Multi-Party Block Construction
Following the merge, every Ethereum block has been assembled by a single party. Multi-party block construction is an upgrade to the block construction pipeline that lets several parties contribute to the same block. More transactions land, blockspace is allocated better, and every party that contributed is compensated. The design comes out of the Blockspace Forum and the research behind it.
MPBC has minimal impact on the current market structure and requires no significant configuration changes. To proposers, a multi-party block is another block, and its bid another bid, in the same open PBS auction that runs today. Builders submit blocks the way they already do, and merging is an optional step that follows submission.
